Sammy Lee Huskey Sr., 62, of 40 Riverside Road, Essex, Md., husband of Ella Allen Huskey, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. at his residence.

Son of the late Joe Watkins and the late Maggie Huskey Camp and the stepson of the late June Camp, he was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Gaffney. He was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Roans Rigging of Baltimore.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, Mr. Huskey was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Huskey and L. D. Huskey; and a sister, Patricia Ann Camp Shippy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Sammy Lee Huskey Jr. of Gastonia, N.C.; six daughters, Diane Vecher and Beverly Huskey, both of Gastonia, Frances Baxter, Sandra Studyvance Burton and Susan Spikes, all of Shelby, N.C., and Angela Douglas of Gaffney; two brothers, James Camp and William Camp, both of Gaffney; three sisters, Kathleen Camp Adams of Washington, D.C., Bessie Camp of Gaffney and Elta Thompson of Elkridge, Va,; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and relatives.
