William Amos Estes

BLACKSBURG - William "Buck" Amos Estes, 74, of 365 Mullinax Circle, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Gaffney, Mr. Estes was the husband of Ola Mae Estes of the home and son of the late William and Clara Jones Estes. He worked as a supervisor in textiles and was a member of First Baptist Church of Grover.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Estes is survived by two sons, Patrick and William "Pete" Estes, both of Blacksburg; three daughters, Debbie Estes Garrett of Chesnee, Janet Estes Allen of Spartanburg and Nikki Estes Endros of Blacksburg; a sister, Lemuel Estes Allison of Blacksburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Estes was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Thomas "Cowboy" Wilkes Estes.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Willie Lanier and Mr. Ben Allison officiating.

Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 16, from 7-9 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

The family will be at the home of Cheryl Mauney, 235 Oak Grove Road, Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.
