Local minister receives degree

The Rev. Antonio D. Smith received his Doctor of Ministry degree on July 25, 2008, from Covington Theological Seminary in Ft. Olgethrope, Ga. The graduation ceremony took place in the sanctuary of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Ga.

Dr. Smith is pastor of Gowdyesville Baptist Church, where he will be celebrating his fifth pastoral anniversary on Aug. 24.
