Margaret Blanton
Margaret Louise Brown Blanton, 77, of 702 Tenth St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her residence.
Born in Greeneville, Tenn., she was the widow of Wilbert "Doc" Brown and Raymond Blanton and daughter of the late Erskine Cutshaw and Sue Cutshaw. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three sons, Sonny Brown and wife, Darlene, of Tennessee, Kenny Brown and wife, Kandis, and Marvin Brown, all of Iowa; four daughters, Emma Lee, Jackie Childress and Angie Brown all of Gaffney, and Patty Schueller of Iowa; nine grandchildren, David Brown, Jonah Brown, Tracy Lee, Kenny Lee, Amanda Lee, Brandon Lee, Larry Brown, Jacqueline Teague and Jimmy Brown; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Cutshaw and Bob Cutshaw of Greeneville, Tenn.; four sisters, Roxie Taylor and June Rector, both of Tennessee, Joyce Smith of Spartanburg and Shirley Wilkie of Gaffney.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Godbee; two brothers, Glenn Cutshaw and Bud Cutshaw; and a sister, Ruby Crowe.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of Emma Lee, 117 W. Allen St., Gaffney.
