He was just a little guy who will be missed
Dear Editor: He was just a little guy, who lived on Buck Shoals Road. He loved to sit and watch the neighborhood and would be sure that all the neighbors knew to be on the lookout! Something was moving in the neighborhood that bore watching. He had been taught not to go out in the road and for the better part of his young life was learning. He had a brother and a sister who loved him and who will be looking for him for quite some time, not to mention his human family who sits in tears because they have lost a member of their family. I forgive you, whoever you are. I only hope that you were truly, desperately in a hurry the morning of Aug. 21 at about 10:11 am. when you hit him, and did not stop to tell anyone but left him in the road, perhaps alive, hopefully dead, never knowing what hit him. I forgive you because he was in a place he should not have been and as fast as he was he wasn't fast enough to get out of your way and your brakes were not working very well. I forgive you if you had your cell phone up to your ear and just didn't see him in time. I forgive you, for that is what a Christian does. Our hearts will be empty for awhile but yours will be emptier by far for the way you did this. I would have you think of this ... dog spelled backwards = GOD! Shadow — that was his name — was one of God's creatures. Are you? Barbara Puszert Gaffney S.C. |
