Coastal photography competition

CHARLESTON - Photographers of all ages and degrees of expertise are invited to get out their cameras and tripods to enter their best photographs of coastal South Carolina scenes in the annual photography contest sponsored by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control's Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management.

The winning photographer will receive a $200 prize and the winning photo will also appear on the 30,000 copies of DHEC's 2009 annual tide table poster.

Entries must be of a coastal South Carolina scene including marshes, beaches or wildlife and be appropriate as an illustration for the tide table. Horizontal orientation is required. Color photos and digital photographs on CDs with image sheets are accepted with a limit of five pictures per contestant. Digital photographs should not exceed 300 dpi at a maximum printed size of 8" x12". E-mail submissions will not be accepted. Entry is free. Submissions will not be returned without a selfaddressed stamped envelope provided by the contestant.

Entries must be postmarked between Sept. 1- 30, 2008.
