Bristol brouhaha ignites pre-Chase rivalry

CARL EDWARDS Six Cup victories CARL EDWARDS Six Cup victories NASCAR has been without a heated rivalry for several seasons, but that may be changing, especially after Carl Edwards pushed Kyle Busch to the side to win Saturday's Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Adding spice to the situation is the fact that Busch and Edwards are the two most successful drivers on the circuit this season. Busch has eight Cup victories, Edwards has six, and they're the only drivers who have secured their spots in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

"They keep talking about rivalries; we might have one now," Edwards said after taking the checkered flag at Bristol. And he didn't try to sugar-coat his description of his race-winning move.

"I kind of just ran into him," Edwards said, fueling the fire by explaining that he was doing to Busch what Busch did to him in a Nationwide Series race at Richmond earlier this year.

Busch expressed his dissatisfaction with Edwards by bumping his car after the race. Edwards responded to that by spinning Busch around.

"He spun me out, so I just got into him a little bit and let him know
