Ella Moss Sanders

BLACKSBURG - Ella Moss Sanders, 90, formerly of 500 Lime St., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at White Oak Manor.

Born in Gaffney, Mrs. Sanders was the widow of William Foy Sanders and daughter of the late William A. and Betty Fant Moss. She was a member of Broad River Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by a sister, Coleen Moss Byrum, of New Ellenton, S.C.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy C. Moss, Olsen Moss, Joe R. Moss and Reo Moss; and four sisters, Grace Moss Parris, Lillian Hardey Moss, Lona Moss Fowler and Catherine Moss Broome.

Services will be held Friday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. at Broad River Baptist Church, with the Rev. Norman Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steven Broome, Thomas Starnes, Robbie Northey, Mike Spencer, Sam Benton and Keith Porter.

Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6 -7 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Broad River Baptist Church Window Fund, 419 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, S.C. 29702.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Sanders' nephew, David Benton, 1216 W. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, SC 29702.
