A sport utility vehicle parked on College Drive sustained about $1,200 in vandalism damages Aug. 29.

Some time between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., the Gaffney Police Department reported, someone scratched the sides and rear of a black 2004 Mercury Mountaineer.

The owner of a car parked on North Granard Street over the weekend discovered a smashed rear window Aug. 31.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone threw a rock through the rear window of a 2001 Ford Mustang owned by a Gaffney man and caused about $300 in damage. The window was broken between Aug. 30 and 12:20 p.m. on Aug. 31. The car was parked in the 900 block when the damage occurred.

Two juveniles allegedly caused $500 in damage to a car driving on Sparks Street on Aug. 31.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, a Kings Mountain woman was driving on Sparks Street near Nesbitt Street at about 5:20 p.m. when two juveniles, approximately eight to 10-years-old, threw a rock at her 2006 Chrysler 300, causing a dent and scratches.

An air conditioning unit valued at $1,500 was reported stolen from a Blacksburg Church property Aug. 29.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a Trane model XE1100 high efficiency air conditioning unit was taken from a property at 839 Antioch Road.

A scooter was reported stolen from a Swofford Drive property on Monday.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the red 2006 Tank 150cc scooter was taken from the 200 block between midnight and 8:30 a.m. The scooter, which belonged to a Battleground Road resident, was valued at $1,100.

The Gaffney Police Department is on the lookout for a trailer and a riding lawn mower stolen from a Hardin Street property Sept. 3.

According to police, someone took the trailer from the 400 block between midnight and 3:35 a.m.

The black trailer, valued at $1,000, contained a Dixie Chopper (Extreme) lawn mower valued at $9,700, as well as a John Deere chain saw and a tool box containing about $1,000 in tools.

More than $1,200 in tools and equipment were reported stolen from a truck parked at an East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, travel plaza, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Some time between Aug. 29 and Sept. 2, someone broke into a truck owned by a Candor, N.C., man and stole a Makita impact wrench, an 18-inch bar chain saw, four binder chains, four load binders, and a Craftsman tool box.

A GPS unit and a camera were reported stolen from a car parked behind a Walton Drive business.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, the items, valued at a combined $500, were taken from the vehicle between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The owner of the car told police she had not locked her doors.

The Gaffney Police Department reported the burglary of a Moss Street home.

According to police, someone kicked open a rear door of a home in the 100 block and took about $10 in loose change from the home.

Door damage was estimated at $25.

The Gaffney Police Department is investigating an incident during which a truck driver inappropriately touched a worker in a restroom at a Hyatt Street restaurant.

According to a police report, the incident at the Arby's on Hyatt Street began when a truck driver followed a worker into the restroom and struck up a conversation. Later, when the worker went into the restroom a second time, the truck driver followed again, walked up beside the worker, and grabbed the worker in a private area and asked, "Would you like to make some money?"

The worker waited several days before calling police out of fear, police said. Police were given photos of the truck driver and his truck from surveillance cameras.

Copper thieves targeted a Suck Creek Road church recently, causing an estimated $7,000 in theft and damage losses. According to a report from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone stripped the copper and condenser coils from three outdoor heat pump condensing units located at Suck Creek Baptist Church between Aug. 31 and Sept. 3.

More than $10,000 in electronics and cash were reported stolen from a Cowpens Pacolet Road home following a Sept. 3 burglary, according to a report from the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. According to a police report, someone entered the home between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and took a 42- inch Phillips flat screen television, a Playstation 3 video game system, a Hewlett Packard fax machine, a Dell laptop computer, a table saw and $4,000 cash.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Sept. 4 incident during which two people claimed they were robbed at knifepoint.

According to a police report, the incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. near the 96 outpost Fuel Center on Wilcox Avenue. Two people claimed a robber took a total of $80 in cash from them at knifepoint. Police were given a name of the suspected robber but no arrest was reported as of Friday.

A handgun was reported stolen from a vehicle on Bear Creek Road in Blacksburg. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a .32 caliber Keltec handgun was taken from a vehicle parked in the 500 block. The gun was valued at $263.

A heat pump valued at $4,500 was reported stolen from a mobile home on Jesse Trail.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the heat pump was taken between Aug. 25 and Sept. 3. Police did not list the make or model of the unit.
