Retired from textile industry

Martha Margie Wyatt Fowler, 85, of 517 Marietta St., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, N.C.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Joe F. Fowler and daughter of the late Henry Wyatt and Mae Strickland Wyatt. She was retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ruppe and husband, Wayne, and Jackie Phillips and husband, Gene, all of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Kim R. Keller and husband, Scott, David Ruppe and wife, Julie, Jillian Cook, all of Gaffney, and Jenna Cook of Port Orange, Fla.; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Wyatt of Union City, Ind.; and two sisters, Alice Pierce of Gaffney and Betty Seay of Boiling Springs.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by four sisters, Vinnie Coleman, Lillie Childers, Fairlene Tedrow and Norma Ward; and a brother, W. C. Wyatt.

Mrs. Fowler will be remembered at a private family funeral service to celebrate her life, with the Rev. Terry Pleasant officiating.

may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative

Care, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731.

The family will be at the home of Wayne and Carol Ruppe, 159 Teague Road.
