Ruth Garland Burke, 58, of 1301 S. Petty St., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of Michael Burke and daughter of Fannie Mullinax Garland and the late O.B. Garland. She was a retired hairdresser and was of the Baptist faith.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tina Wilson and husband, Tommy, of Gaffney and Christy Brown of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Cade Wilson and Alec Richardson of Gaffney; a brother, Jeffrey Ray Garland of Gaffney; and two sisters, Norma Jean Cash and Dora Blanton, both of Gaffney.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating.

The family is at the home of Tina Wilson, 121 Hunters Creek Road, Gaffney, where visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 7, from 6-8 p.m.
