October designated Parson's Pantry Month
Gospel singing, barbecue dinner planned Oct. 4 at East Gaffney Church
The Board of Directors of Parson's Pantry has designated October as Parson's Pantry Month.
The mission of the organization is to provide financial assistance to needy pastors, retired pastors, widows of pastors and married ministerial students. More than $24,000 in assistance has already been distributed this year and $64,000 has been given since the ministry was begun in 2005.
A pastor from Green Sea, after receiving assistance, said, "Being a pastor, hearing the word 'cancer' was nothing new, but this time the doctor was talking to me! God is so good and has chosen to heal me through my doctor's hands. And He has used your hand to help us with our financial burdens. May God continue to bless you."
A widow from Anderson said, "Thank you so much for the generous gift. The loss of our husband, father and pastor is almost more than we can grasp. Your ministry is a lifeline thrown to us amidst the storm. Thank you again for being Jesus' hands and feet for our family. God bless each of you."
A student at Fruitland Bible Institute said, "You wll never know how greatly our family needed your help. We have struggled financially since my back injury, but the Lord has taken care of us through acts of kindness such as yours. Thank you again for your gift..."
A retired pastor from Simpsonville said, "I am very humbled to receive a check from the Parson's Pantry. You have been very gracious and generous. This gift is very much appreciated and needed. You will never know how much your generous gift means to us. We are just barely keeping our heads afloat. However, the Lord does provide and we trust Him in whatever the future holds for us."
There will be a gospel singing and a barbecue meal at East Gaffney Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. The meal is $10 per person and will be in the fellowship hall at 5:30. For ticket
information, contact East Gaffney Baptist Church , 864-489-8740, or Ron Jackson, 864-489-6709. A love offering will be received during the singing for the ministry of Parson's Pantry.

All gifts go directly to assist the Lord's servants. You may send your contribution to Parson's Pantry Inc., P.O. Box 777, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.
