Lady Indians top SHS in 3 games

By LARRY HILLIARD Ledger Sports Editor larry@gaffneyledger.com

This time, the Gaffney High volleyball team performed up to expectations against Spartanburg.

Lacey Gardner served seven aces and Cameron Crocker led the team in kills to lead the Lady Indians to a convincing 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 victory over Spartanburg and avenging a season-opening loss to their longtime rivals.

"I made a few lineup changes and everything went well," Gaffney coach Vickie Parks said.

Parks praised the overall play of Kierra Phillips and Holly Wolff and the defensive effort of Allyson Guyton and Chrishena Craig.

The Lady Indians, who even their record at 3-3, will participate in a tournament at Hillcrest High School this weekend.
