      Raymond Graham, 86, of 207 Hill St. died Monday, Sept. 17, 2008, at his home. Husband of Poniece Rogers Graham, he was born in Cherokee County, a son of the late Joe and Merdish Brown Graham. He was a member of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Southern Railway.

      COWPENS - Gary Lee Russell, 64, of Apt. 2-64 Bunche St., died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at 4:55 p.m. in Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Born July 7, 1944, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Leroy Russell and the late Gladys Wilkins Russell. He graduated in 1962 from B.E. Mayes High School in Cowpens and served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.

      COWPENS - Carroll Reid "Bud" Mahaffee, 53 of 140 Edgewood Drive, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born Jan. 17, 1955, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Mary Ann Willis Mahaffee of Cowpens and the late Cliatt Reid Mahaffee. He was first employed by Hamrick's Inc. and then with International Wire. He was of the Baptist faith.

      SHELBY - Donald Sidney ("Sid") Haton Jr., 45, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008. Mr. Haton was the director of athletic bands and an instructor of music at Gardner Webb University. He was also the music director at Buford Street United Methodist Church in Gaffney and a pianist with numerous jazz, classical and rock ensembles.
