LEARNING ABOUT HISTORY CAN BE FUN - The smiling faces above are evidence that children from the Cherokee County Boys and Girls Club in Gaffney enjoyed learning about colonial life on a recent trip to the Cherokee County History and Arts Museum. The replica of Fort Thicketty was one of the children's favorite areas in the Revolutionary War display. "With hands-on activities, we hope to create a memorable experience for each child who visits the museum," said Billy Pennington Jr., museum director. To make an appointment for groups or classroom visits to the museum, call 864-489-3988. The Cherokee County History and Arts Museum is located at 301 College Drive and visiting hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 2-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
