Patrick Lee Stuart

SPARTANBURG - Patrick Lee Stuart, 38, of San Francisco, Calif., formerly of Spartanburg, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in San Francisco.

Born Dec. 22, 1969, in Auburn, Ala., he was the son of Dr. Jeanne S. Kowalczyk of Gaffney and the late Alex W. Stuart. He attended St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School, Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va., and Spartanburg Community College. A landscaper, he was a former member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his stepfather, Dr. Bruno F. Kowalczyk; a daughter, Alexis Stuart, and a son, Ross Stuart, both of Gaffney; and two brothers, Brian Stuart of Atlanta and Timothy Stuart of Gaffney.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. James M. Crowley. A reception will follow in the Parish Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patrick Stuart Horticulture Scholarship, Spartanburg Community College, P. O. Box 4386, Spartanburg, S.C. 29305.
