Roger W. Evans
Retired from Eaton Corp.
BLACKSBURG - Roger W. Evans, 50, of 1205 Holly Ridge Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Linda Pennington Evans and son of James E. and Viola Robinson Evans of Blacksburg. He was retired from Eaton Corporation in Kings Mountain, owner of Evans Wrecker Service in Blacksburg and a member of First Baptist Church of Grover. He was a loving husband and dad. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Evans. Also surviving are a daughter, Lindsey Michelle Evans of Blacksburg; two brothers, J.L. Evans of Gaffney and Kenneth Evans of Blacksburg; and two sisters, Catherine Burchfield and Janie Satterfield, both of Blacksburg. Services will be held Friday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Grover, conducted by the Revs. John Barnhardt and David Saldo. Burial will be in Grover Cemetery.
