Joe Henry Pennington Jr., 28, of 308 Springwood Drive, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at his home.

Born in Spartanburg, Joe was a son of Joe Henry Pennington Sr. of Gaffney and Margaret Ann Henderson Pennington of the home. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing and video games, and had been employed in the workshop of Disabilities and Special Needs.

Surviving in addition to his mother and father are a brother, Michael James Pennington, his maternal grandmother, Lula Mae Henderson, his paternal grandfather, James Paul Pennington, and a niece, all of Gaffney,

Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Clark Henderson, and his paternal grandmother, Frances Falls Pennington.

The family is at the home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
