LEDGER READERS ON THE ROAD
     While in China adopting her baby sister, Bett Brumley enjoys time on the Great Wall of China (top photo). She also traveled with her family over to the Olympic Stadium in Beijing and was able to see the Bird's Nest (bottom photo) and the Olympic Flame. Bett is the daughter of Steve and Lisa Brumley and the happy sister of Sally Grace Brumley.       A depressing distinction FBI statistics released recently listed South Carolina as the state with the highest rate of violent crime in 2007, the second straight year that depressing distinction has fallen to us. At least we're still ahead of the District of Columbia.
