Saints to hear from IPTAY

The man who helped build one of the most successful athletic booster clubs in college sports will speak at the Limestone College Saints Club meeting this month. Bert Henderson, the Executive Director of Clemson University's IPTAY Club will be in Stephenson Dining Hall on Wednesday, September 24 at 12 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Henderson will talk about building a solid booster club, the importance of volunteers, and what a booster club means to the institution, athletics department, and community. Interested participants are asked to RSVP to Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Development Will Goode at 488- 4609.

Henderson has been at Clemson since 1978, joining the Tigers' athletics department as an athletic trainer. In 1985 he became IPTAY's first Associate Executive Director and became the Executive Director in 2004.

Henderson's current duties at IPTAY include overseeing day-to-day activities and the execution of strategic plans set forth by the IPTAY Board of Directors and Clemson University Athletic Department. Henderson coordinates The Orange and White, IPTAY's official publication, and now advises the IPTAY Collegiate Club for students, and the Tiger Cub Club and CATS programs.

Henderson graduated from Mars Hill College in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and health. He is married to Lee Ann Hudson and they have two daughters, Amy Lee and Kimberly, who both currently attend Clemson.
