Jamie Guthrie

James Floyd (Jamie) Guthrie, 21, of 1339 Wilcox Ave., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the son Floyd Martin and the stepson of Janice Walker Martin of Gaffney. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Guthrie was employed with Investi and a member of the Salvation Army Church.

Surviving are three half brothers, Michael Guthrie, Shannon Guthrie and Andrew Guthrie, all of Gaffney; a half sister, Heather Guthrie of Gaffney; and a paternal grandmother, Lena Martin of Gaffney.

Mr. Guthrie was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Moss.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Harris and Dr. Charles Moss officiating. Interment will be in Camps Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gibbs Cancer Center, 380 Serpentine Drive, Suite 200, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

The family will be at the home of Floyd and Janice Martin, 1339 Wilcox Ave.
