Tommy LeRoy Ellis, 67, of 829 Filter Plant Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in York, he was the husband of Laquita Potter Ellis and son of the late Hoyle Shuford Ellis and Margaret Wright Ellis. He was retired from United Cities Gas, where he was employed for 28 years, and was currently employed by NAPA Auto. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mark Ellis and wife, Tammy, and Steve Ellis, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Sandy Cooke and husband, Jeff, of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Wayne Pittman, Amber Bryson, Delanee Ellis and Conner Ellis; two greatgrandchildren, Nikki Spencer and Austin Bryson; a brother, Kenneth Ellis and wife, Ruth, of Chesnee; a step-sister, Shirley Cross and husband, Charles, of Charlotte, N.C.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Todd Ellis.

Services will be held Monday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Al McKinney officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. Al McKinney, 1745 Farm Wind Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341.

The family will be at the residence.
