Baptist Week Sept. 27- Oct. 2

The 31st annual session of the Thicketty Mountain Baptist Association and its auxiliaries will be held Sept. 27- Oct. 2. The convention will be hosted by Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2085 Mayo Road, Cowpens, where Dr. Caryer D. Rector is pastor. The theme is "Effective Christian Leadership in Transitional Times."

The following sessions are planned:

Saturday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. the YWAs convention will be held in the Family Life Center at Green Bethel Baptist Church. The president, Terri Williams, will be presiding.

Sunday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. the association will convene with the moderator, Dr. J.W. Sanders Sr., presiding. The moderator's address will be given at 7 p.m. with the choirs of Bethel and Island Creek Baptist churches presenting special music.

The Ushers and Brotherhood auxiliaries will meet Monday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. The presidents, Geneva Palmer and Charles Montgomery, will preside.

The Junior Convention will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. The president, Cheynia Allen, will be presiding.

Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m., the Women's Convention will be held with the president, Daisy Smith, presiding. The Ministers' Wives program will be presented at 5:30 p.m.

The Congress of Christian Education will convene on Thursday, Oct. 2, with the president, the Rev. Danny L. Burnside, presiding.

All churches and the public are welcome to attend any of the sessions.
