ENGAGEMENTS

Benjamin Robert Baker and Carrie Ann Blanton Blanton - Baker

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blanton of Gaffney announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Ann, to Benjamin Robert Baker of Cowpens.

An outdoor wedding is planned Oct. 25 at the Blanton family farm.

Miss Blanton graduated in 2006 from Gaffney High School and is a student at Wofford College, where she is majoring in accounting and a member of Tri-Delta Sorority. Her grandparents are Lenora W. Blanton of Gaffney, Roynell Gossett of Plant City, Fla., and the late Henry G. Blanton.

Mr. Baker is the son of Leonard Ray Baker of Smyrna and Susie Edwards Baker of Cowpens. His grandmother is Lucille Edwards of Cowpens. A 2003 graduate of Broome High School and 2005 graduate of Spartanburg Technical College with an associates degree in horticulture, he is employed by the Spartanburg Fire Department as well as the LandArt Design Groups Inc. He is also a member of the Cowpens Fire Department and Spartanburg Professional Firefighters Association Local 369.

Amanda Christine Wall and Mathew Joshua Owens Wall - Owens

In honor of their 31st wedding anniversary, David and Pam Wall of Gaffney announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Christine, to Mathew Joshua Owens, son of Rhonda Carelock of Gaffney and Billy Owens of Kings Mountain.

A private ceremony is being planned for May 5, 2009.
