The Cherokee County History and Arts Museum, 301 College Drive, is sponsoring a "green" day Saturday, Sept. 27, from 2-5 p.m.

As a part of the City of Gaffney's annual Michael Gaffney Day celebration, the museum is hosting several "green" activities.

The life and family of the city's Irish founder, Michael Gaffney, is depicted in exhibits throughout the museum. The museum will also open a special exhibit to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Gaston Shoals Hydroelectric Plant, locally known as Dravo.

In addition, HHOTEK will return to the museum after drawing large crowds at last Saturday's car show. The group will discuss and demonstrate their hydrogen generator technology that allows for increased fuel efficiency in a car. They will also explain how to equip one's own car with the generator.

At 2:30 p.m., Newt Hardie of Spartanburg's Kudzu Coalition will conduct a session of Kudzu Kollege. Participants will learn about the history, uses and ways to battle the invasive species that is spreading rapidly across the Southeast. Those interested in attending the session should contact Billy Pennington, 864-489- 3988, to reserve a space.

There is no additional charge for the day's activities, which are included in the museum's regular admission price.
