Patricia Caldwell
Former head of chemistry department at UCMC
Patricia Annette Caldwell, 60, of Eastview Drive passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at her residence. Ms. Caldwell was born in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Amy Maybelle Batchelor Caldwell. A 1967 graduate of Chapman High School, she was former head of the chemistry department at Upstate Carolina Medical Center and was Employee of the Year there in 1991. Ms. Caldwell also worked, most recently, for Nestlé in Gaffney. Surviving are a sister, Denise Caldwell Fowler of Gaffney; two nieces, Chrystina Fowler and Amy Fowler; a nephew, Marcus Fowler; a great-niece, Cierra Fowler; a great-nephew, KeonDre Fowler; several other nieces and nephews; and a brother, Steven Caldwell of Gaffney. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Perry Melvin and Lettie Maybelle Garner Batchelor; a brother, Ronnie Caldwell; and a nephew, Van Fowler. Ms. Caldwell's wishes were that there be no services. The family is at the home of Chrystina Fowler, 504 Holmes St., Gaffney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
