WHAT'S UP Fund raisers Camps Creek Baptist Church will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 4. Proceeds from the event will go to the pastor's wife, who is battling multiple sclerosis. New Harvest Ministries, 215 Pecan St., will have a yard sale and hot dog sale Saturday, Oct. 4, beginning at 8 a.m. Proceeds go to church projects. The ladies of Cornerstone Church are having a yard sale and bake sale at 1020 Cherokee Ave. on Saturday, Oct. 4, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until. Proceeds will go toward a new sound system for the church. The Gaffney Senior Center, 499 W. Rutledge Ave., will have a craft show Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Barbecue sandwiches will be provided by Daddy Joe's and homemade baked goods will be available. Proceeds from the booth rentals and crafts will benefit the Blacksburg Senior Center Renovation Fund. A pancake supper will be held today in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg from 5:30-7 p.m. prior to the Blacksburg High School homecoming football game. Plates are $5. Sponsored by the church's Children's Activities Committee, the event is a fund raiser for new playground equipment for the church. Notice Saturday, Oct. 4, is the last day to register to vote or update voter information for the Nov. 4 general election. Voter registration hours at the Cherokee County Voter Registration Office are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The office will be open Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. until noon. All members of the organization are asked to be present. Gospel singing The Chapelettes of Gaffney sing at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Chesnee Gospel Music Center, 672 Greenlake Road. Church news Beaverdam Baptist Church will have homecoming services Sunday, Oct. 5. The Rev. Norman Philbeck will be the morning speaker and Soul Harvest will sing in the afternoon. Homecoming services will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, at Christian Heights Baptist Church, 605 6th St. All are welcome to come worship, fellowship and eat together. An old-fashioned revival will be held Oct. 6-10 at Abingdon Creek Baptist Church, 187 Abingdon Road. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Landon Rice. Special music will be provided each night.
