C. R. Keller Sr.
Served in Army 82nd Airborne and Helicopter Assault Infantry in Vietnam
Born in New Orleans, La., he was the widower of Susie McAbee Keller and son of the late Fred Woodrow Keller and Fannie Geneva Shehan Parker Keller. He was retired from the Board of Public Works after 30 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army 82nd Airborne and Helicopter Assault Infantry. He was recipient of the Purple Heart and Air Medal. He is survived by a son, C. R. Keller Jr. and wife, Kim, of Gaffney; two daughters, Linda Carlton and husband, Steve, and Michele Parker and husband, Thomas, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Joshua Best, Justin Best, Kristian Crawford, Cameron Crawford and Brandon Crawford; two brothers, Fred Keller and Donnie Parker, both of Gaffney. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Keller was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Keller. Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with with the Rev. Jamie Martin and mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
