Raymond E. Ross

COLUMBIA - Graveside services for Raymond E. Ross, 74, will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Russ Bradley. The family will receive friends at the family home in Gaffney immediately following the service.

Mr. Ross died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008. Born in Ezel, Ky., he was a son of the late Rollie and Flora Puckett

Marine Air Wing with the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. He retired as Project Manager with Policy Management Systems Corp.

Mr. Ross was an avid golfer and member of the Columbia Country Club. He was also a member of Shandon United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Reaves Ross; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberlin Ross Polito and Joseph of Crestline, Ohio; sons, Kyle Ross and his wife, Barbara, of Lexington, Ohio, and Kip Ross of Butler, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Andrea, Alison and Jes Slaybaugh, Kristopher, Kole and Alayna Ross and Dominic and Anthony Polito; three great-grandchildren, Keely and Kaitlyn Slaybaugh and Emma Ross; eight sisters; and three brothers.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ross was predeceased by a daughter, Keely Ross Slaybaugh; five brothers and one sister.
