Limestone inducts 4 into Hall of Fame

Limestone College inducted four former athletes into its Hall of Fame on Saturday. Chris Campbell, Harmony Noda, Michael Purdy, and Tracy Sanders are the newest members of the Limestone College Athletics Hall of Fame.

Chris Campbell graduated from Limestone in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He played for the Saints lacrosse team from 1998- 2001.

Campbell is Limestone's first four-time men's lacrosse All-American, earning the award at two different positions. He was also a four-time All-Conference honoree, and was named Rookie of the Year in 1998. As a player, he helped the team to the 2000 NCAA Division II National Championship.Campbell led the team in scoring in 1998 and 1999. Following his playing career, he served as an assistant coach for Limestone, helping the team to another NCAA Division II national title in 2002.

Harmony Noda received her bachelor of science degree in business administration and accounting from Limestone in 2002. She was a member of the Lady Saints softball team from 1998-2002. Noda was the team's defensive MVP in 1999 and 2000, and was the 2002 team MVP. She also earned All-Conference honors.

Michael Purdy earned his bachelor of science degree in physical education from Limestone in 1991. He was a member of the Saints soccer team from 1988-1991, and also competed with the lacrosse (1989-1991) and junior varsity basketball teams (1987-1990).

Purdy was named team MVP and captain for the Limestone soccer team in 1990. He also earned the soccer Coach's Award in 1988.

Tracy Sanders was one of the founding members of the Limestone College baseball program in 1988. He had an outstanding career with the Saints, earning team MVP honors as a freshman, and was named the Duncan Park Classic Tournament MVP.

He became the first student athlete from Limestone to be drafted by a professional team when he was selected by the New York Mets organization. He went on to have a successful professional career. He was a Minor League All-Star from 1990-93, and again in 1997.
