LEDGER READERS ON THE ROAD
Hi y'all. I had to take a break on my way up the Great Wall, and what a long break it was...whew. I was in Beijing from Sept. 2 through the 22nd. The first two weeks I was a referee for the Paralympic Game of Goalball which is for visually impaired athletes. The last week I spent seeing the sites and enjoyed living with a Chinese family who own a hutong (bed and breakfast) and learning much about Beijing and the Chinese culture. I was happy to get back to the U.S. to my home in Myrtle Beach and of course back to Gaffney to see my family. -- Dianne Harrington Sartor Carl and Becky Bell took The Gaffney Ledger with them while on vacation at Myrtle Beach with their grandchildren David and Amber Bell (pictured above). Mrs. Margaret Motts of Gaffney traveled to Myrtle Beach for a family reunion with her five children, their spouses and a granddaughter. Members of the Motts family traveled from Manhattan Beach, CA; Altadena, CA; Louisville, KY; Knoxville, KY; Kent, OH, and Tamarac, FL for the annual event. Mrs. Motts has been reading the Ledger for many decades. On your next trip out of town, take a copy of The Ledger along and send a picture of yourself or your group reading the newspaper to: cody@gaffneyledger.com. |
