Earl Peeler

Earl Hall Peeler, 84, of 121 Earl Road, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Lillian Wyatt Peeler and son of the late E. Boyce Peeler and Bernice Bratton Peeler. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Abingdon Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Peeler was a U.S. Army veteran and a Mason in Granard Lodge 186.

Also surviving are three sons, Earl Dean Peeler, Michael B. Peeler and Billy E. Peeler and wife, Maryann, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Doris Peterson of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Allen Peeler, Amy Peeler, Lisa France, Boyce Peeler, Cindy Hamrick, Charles Mullinax, Steve Mullinax and Gary Peterson; numerous great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Lynn Phillips and Jean Bowen, both of Gaffney; a brother, Dave M. Peeler and wife, Emmaree, of Gaffney; and three sisters, Belle Gordon of Pacolet, Ruth Spencer and Margaret Hatfield, both of Gaffney.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Peeler was preceded in death by three sisters, Inez Kirby, Rossie Martin and Lucille Roberts, and a brother, Wilson Peeler.

Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. at Abingdon Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Jones and Alan Peeler officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 188 Abingdon Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the residence.
