Hamrick Mills leases facility to S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation Department

Hamrick Mills has struck a deal to lease one of its industrial facilities.

Bobby Lyons, president of the Spartanburg-based real estate brokerage firm The Lyons Group, said Hamrick Mills has agreed to lease the 33,241-square-foot facility at 226 Hyatt Street to the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department. The facility was formerly occupied by Southern Loom- Reed.

The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Dept. will utilize the facility to perform work for nearby Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp.

Lyons said Hamrick Mills has been storing textilerelated items in the facility.

The 3-year lease has an additional 4-year option period, said Lyons, who added he has been searching for a tenant for the facility for about a year.

Lyons said plans call for upgrades to be made to the facility, including improvements

to the loading docks. Lyons said the South Carolina

Vocational Rehabilitation Department is currently leasing an 18,000-square-foot facility on Hwy. 329. The deal moves the department's warehousing operations closer to office at 346 Huntington Road.
