GIVING A THEME AT TIMKEN— Employees were in a festive mood Tuesday at The Timken Company's Gaffney Bearing Plant during the company's United Way celebration. To promote its 2008 United Way campaign across the country, Timken customized a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to be raffled at Timken facilities around the United States through Oct. 19. The motorcycle was on display at the local Timken facility. A number of employees took part in the raffle, with their ticket purchases going to the United Way. Their generosity was rewarded with ice cream and dessert items from Dairy Queen. The plant is an annual donor to the nonprofit organization.
