Joey Copeland rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Gaffney junior varsity to a 33-7 victory over visiting York on Thursday.

Quinshad Davis was on the receiving end of Copeland's touchdown pass.

Gaffney's special teams got into the scoring act when Jaquan Barnes blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone.

Rodney Rogers added a 60- yard TD run for the Indians, who improve to 3-4. In ninth grade action, York beat the Gaffney Indians, 42-28 on Thursday.

Benna's Sports Club will hold the Bridgette Lister Cancer Golf Tournament benefit on Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. The second annual event will be held at The Creek golf course at Camp Croft. At the Stono Cup tournament in Charleston Tuesday, Gaffney's Josh Gallman carded the low score on the day for USCUpstate, finishing the final round with a 74 to finish in a tie for fifth place.

In middle school football action, Gaffney beat Ewing, 52- 14, on Tuesday.
