AIR TRANSPORT — A Gaffney woman was rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center by helicopter Tuesday afternoon following a crash on 13th Street. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the woman lost consciousness behind the wheel due to a medical problem and went off the right side of the road, where her vehicle struck a tree. The Regional One medical helicopter landed at nearby Alma Elementary School. The woman's condition wasn't immediately known Tuesday afternoon but her injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening. Woman injured in school bus accident files lawsuit
The Cherokee County School District and the South Carolina Department of Education were sued Monday in Cherokee County Court of Common Pleas for injuries a woman sustained in an October 2006 school bus accident.
