Named to DSN board

Dr. Joette C. Johnson has been named to serve on the Cherokee County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. Dr. Johnson has been a public school special education teacher for more than 30 years, and currently serves as the principal of the McCarthy/Teszler School, a school that serves children with disabilities in Spartanburg School District 7.

Dr. Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Limestone College; a master's degree in special education from the University of South Carolina; and a doctorate of education degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Johnson has served on the Cherokee County Association for Retarded Citizens board and currently is a member of the Cherokee County First Steps Board of Directors.
