Thursday's Shindig featuring beach music
When it comes to music, size does matter and the members of Coming Up Brass, also known as The CUB Band, will knock your socks off with their strong horn section, their rockin' music and killer vocals! Coming Up Brass has played Beach Blasts, festivals, private parties, weddings, corporate parties and other events in and around the Charlotte, North Carolina area for years. When Archie Bell of Tighten Up fame would come to North or South Carolina, they were his "band of choice." This band has built a loyal following of fans that voted them the Creative Loafing Reader's Pick "Best Local Band for Dancing!" So now you know why you need to dust off your shaggin' shoes and come on down to Shindig at the Gaffney Cabin on Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m. Don't be late because you will want to have the best seat around to see, hear and dance to this great Beach Show band! Trackside Diner and Davis Amusements will have "good eats" available, which means you can come straight from work and stay right up until the end of the show. Dress warm, bring your lawn chair or blanket, and plan on a great evening of music, food, fun, and community spirit. For more information, contact Pat Throneburg at the City of Gaffney Visitor's Center (864) 487-6244, and check our Coming Up Brass's website at www.comingupbrass.com. Don't forget, it is time to register for the City of Gaffney/Veterans Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, December 13. Gaffney's biggest and best Christmas parade was held last year, and you can help make it even bigger and better this year. Contact Pat Throneburg at (864) 487-6244 to register now. Christmas on Limestone will be Friday, December 5, and it, along with a host of other holiday events that are being put together by local cultural organizations, will provide an entire weekend of festivities to be known as Holiday Fest in Historic Gaffney. "Keep reading, stay tuned, and watch for more holiday news in the coming weeks. Believe me when I tell you there will be something special for everyone and for every age to help brighten the holidays in the City of Gaffney and throughout Cherokee County," said Throneburg. |
