Janice Elaine Richardson, 54, of 402 East Junior High Road, slept away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008, at 2:30 a.m. at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg.

The daughter of Essie Bell Tate Richardson of the home and the late Eugene Richardson, she was born August 25, 1954 in Gaffney.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she was a member of the finance committee, Y.W.A., Pastor's aide, constitution committee and assistant clerk.

Also, she attended Bible study and Sunday School.

Richardson was a graduate of Gaffney High School's class of 1972 and Limestone College.

Before her declining health, she was an employee at both Springs Plant and Wal-Mart, both of Gaffney.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three brothers, Jimmy Richardson, Jeryl Richardson and Milton Richardson, all of the home; two sisters, Joyce Pearson and Flora Littlejohn, both of Gaffney; two aunts; two uncles; 16 nieces and nephews; amd a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 19, at p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Dr. A.L. Brackett, the Revs. Dewey Whittenburg, C.A. Wallace and Ron Williams officiating.

Pall bearers will be members of Gaffney High School's class of 1972.

Body will lie in-state at 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
