Shuntia Lashae White
Shuntia Lashae White, 21, of 232 East Jones Street in Blacksburg, passed Sunday evening, October 12, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. following a vehicle accident.
Born in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of Charlette White of the home and Henry Hopper II of Spartanburg.
She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Blacksburg, where she was part of its audio and video ministry and the soup kitchen committee.
She was a graduate of Blacksburg High School in 2005.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Sheronda Byers of the home, Whitney Byers of Gaffney and Alexas Jennings of Charlotte, N.C.; her half-brother, Jayden Brooks; her half-sister, Amoni Height; grandfathers Deacon Eugene Wright and Henry Hopper, both of Blacksburg; grandmothers Shirley White and Sandra Hopper, both of Blacksburg; great grandmothers Inez Hull, Carrie Mae Hames and Susie Camp, all of Blacksburg; her step-father, Dewayne Byers of Gaffney; and a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 3 p.m. at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Howard officiating.
She will lie in-state at 2 p.m. at Youngs Grove Baptist Church until the hour of the service.
Interment will follow in Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home of her grandparents Deacon Eugene and Shirley White at 114 Falls Street in Blacksburg.
Foster Funeral Home of Gaffney is in charge of arrangements.
