CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED

The Salvation Army and Department of Social Services will be taking Christmas applications from Oct. 27 through Oct. 31 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and from 1 until 3:30 p.m.

If you need assistance with Christmas, please go by the Salvation Army at 601 Colonial Ave. during these hours.

You will need to provide the following information:

Income from the past four weeks of ALL household members;

Social Security cards of every household member and picture identification of the person filling out the application;

Proof of all bills (this includes rent, mortgage, power, gas, water, insurance, finance companies, car loans and credit cards);

Proof of food stamps;

If you are not working, you will need to bring proof that you are looking for a job.

All this information has to be provided. There are not exceptions.

This assistance is for children through age 12 only.

The Salvation Army and the Department of Social Services are the organizations that provide the names to The Gaffney Ledger for the newspaper's Christmas Is For Kids campaign.
