Rogers leads Gaffney to 26-14 victory

By LARRY HILLIARD Ledger Sports Editor larry@gaffneyledger.com

The Gaffney junior varsity football team made the most of their opportunities on Thursday.

The Indians scored on two of their three first-half possessions en route to a 26-14 victory over the Nation Ford Falcons.

Running back Rodney Rogers was the offensive star of the game with three touchdowns, including an 80-yarder.

Wideout Tim Ellis hauled in a 45-yard pass from quarterback Joey Copeland for the Indians' other touchdown.

The Indian defense forced a couple of turnovers. Tyshun Hardy and Dre Dover each stopped Nation Ford drives with interceptions.

Gaffney evens its record at 4-4.

In ninth-grade action, Gaffney topped the Falcons, 26-20.
