Food and fun highlight Brookview's fall festival
      Brookview Healthcare Center will host its second annual fall festival Saturday, Oct. 25, from 4-7 p.m. Sponsored by Brookview's employee advisory committee, the event will feature free games, tattoos, prizes, a giant slide and a special Kids Craft Zone that was a big hit at last year's festival.

Dog with history of biting doesn't belong around baby

      Dear Annie: My daughter, "Sue," has a pit bull. She's had this dog since it was a puppy. When Sue came to stay with us for a while, she brought the dog. Long story short, the dog bit my 6-year-old son and he had to have a couple of stitches. Sue was told Fido had to go, so she moved out in order to keep the dog.

      Aeysha Morman and Vida Robbs, both of Gaffney, exchanged marriage vows on Aug. 30, 2008, at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Bridges conducted the 4 p.m. double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of David and Teresa Morman of Gaffney.

Boo at the Zoo spook-tacular at Riverbanks
      COLUMBIA - Things will get a little spooky at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden as Boo at the Zoo returns for its sixth year. The annual Halloween spook-tacular will run nightly October 24- 30. By the end of October, Riverbanks will have passed out nearly 200,000 pieces of candy to costumed children as they stop at the 20 stations along Trick-or-Treat Trail.
