Popular Ghost Walk, hayride set for Nov. 6-7
Dr. Bobby Moss will tell some chilling local ghost stories on Nov. 1
On Nov. 1, Dr. Bobby Gilmer Moss will be telling local ghost stories in the museum's meeting room from 2:30-4:30 p.m. with a question and answer session to follow. The local historian and author of several books, including his most recent release, The Snow Campaign, 1775, is known internationally for his expertise in Revolutionary War as well as local history. Several of his books and video lecture series will be available for purchase in the museum's information and resource center. Dr. Moss' guest appearance will precede the fifth annual Historic Hayride and Ghost Walk on Nov. 6-7. This year's popular event will take guests on a new route with additional historical characters, re-enactments and theatrics being added to the favorites from years past. Dozens of volunteers and actors from the area will be joined by others from across the nation in the performance. The script takes visitors into Cherokee County's early history, adding Native American history to the storyline. Ghost Walk tickets are available at the History and Arts Museum, 301 College Drive, or by phone at 864-489-3988. Prices are $12 for adults and $6 for children. Space is limited and tickets should be purchased in advance. Visit www.cherokeecountyhistory. org for more information. |
