Ernest Burr, Jr.

Ernest Burr, Jr., 56, of 254 Cherokee Ridge Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008.

Born in Charlotte, N.C., he was the husband of Betty Marcella Suttles Burr and son of Alice Crisp Sprinkle of Asheville, N.C., and the late Ernest Burr Sr. He was a truck driver and member of Christian Fellowship Church in Chesnee.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Charles Burr, and a daughter, Jessica Burr, both of Charlotte; a grandchild, Leslie Ann Poovey; two brothers, Allen Burr of Myrtle Beach and Carl Burr of Fayetteville, N.C.; and four sisters, Virginia Burr of Rock Hill, Macey Lester of Simpsonville, Patty Hirsch of Charlotte and Lucille Faircloth of Stedman, N.C.

In addition to his father, Mr. Burr was preceded in death by four sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Juanita Jones, Janet Honeycutt and Jean Kent, and a brother, Harold Burr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.
