Hattie Blackwell

BLACKSBURG - Hattie Kearse Blackwell, 85, of 109 Tiffany Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Spartanburg Restorative Care.

Born in Barnwell, she was the widow of Webster Blackwell and daughter of the late Jim Kearse and Pearlie Mason Kearse. She was retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Dean Blackwell and wife, Mary, of Gaffney; a daughter, Beverly Dianne Davis of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four greatgreat grandchildren; and two brothers, James Kearse of Virginia and Bill Kearse of Chesnee.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Rowe officiating
