Director of Pure 'n Heart Ministry will lead workshop concert at Shady Grove Church

Alphaeus Anderson Alphaeus Anderson Alphaeus Anderson of Spartanburg, director of the Pure 'n Heart Ministry, will lead a workshop and concert at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Gaffney for youths ages five to 13.

The workshop will be Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. and the concert will be Sunday, Nov. 9, at 5:08 p.m.

Anderson serves as Minister of Music at Mt. Sinai World Outreach Ministry in Spartanburg. He is a graduate of Anderson University with a degree in Christian Ministries and minor in Music. He is married to his best friend, the former Alexias Harrison, who makes up their duo.

Anderson is a songwriter and recording artist. He has been music director of several live recordings, written and produced for numerous recording artists. He has served as accompanist at the National Baptist Convention; served as S.C. State Baptist Convention assistant music director, and music team and children's rally choir director. He served as music director at Anderson College and as worship leader for Mt. Moriah Baptist Church youth chapel.

He has toured with several national gospel plays and has toured nationally with "The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow" art exhibition, sponsored by New York Life Insurance Co.

Pure 'n Heart now consists of over 250 children, ages five to 13, representing South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia churches.
