Fall festivals

West End Baptist Church will have a fall festival Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 5- 8:30 p.m. There will be a bouncy house, obstacle course and hay rides outdoors while a hot dog supper, fall photos and carnival games with candy and prizes will take place in the gym. There will also be face painting, crafts, balloons and cake sales along with lots of fun and fellowship.

White Plains Baptist Church, 206 Soap Stone Rd., will have a Trunk-O'-Treat on Oct. 31 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Cowpens Veteran's Park. The church will be distributing candy and selling hot dogs, chips and can drinks.

Corinth Baptist Church, 190 Corinth Road, will hold a fall festival Friday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. There will be hot dogs, large inflatables, a cake walk and small games with prizes. Kids will be able to "Trunk-or-Treat." Bring the entire family to this safe Halloween alternative.

Meetings

Blacksburg VFW Post 4941 will meet Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Community Building in Blacksburg. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. All post members are urged to attend.

Special events

The second annual Bryan House Holiday Market will be held Nov. 1-9 at 606 Main St. in Conway. Hours will be Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

Church news

White Plains Baptist Church Missionaries will have their annual prayer breakfast program Saturday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m. Minister Teresa Black of New Salem Zion Baptist Church will be the special guest. The Rev. James Patton Jr., pastor, invites everyone to attend.

The Voice of Triumph's annual fall camp meeting will be held Oct. 29-31 at 7 p.m. with morning services Thursday and Friday at 10. The evening speaker will be evangelist Gordon Stacy of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., with various speakers at the morning services. There is free lodging and meals available at the campground for the entire three days. A freewill offering will be received at each service. School news

Gaffney High School will hold its underclassmen awards ceremony today, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
