POLICE REPORT The Gaffney Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a man at Limestone Courts on North Limestone Street on Oct. 23. According to a police report, a 42-year-old man was approached by three subjects who pulled a gun on him and fired a shot into the air before hitting him about the face. The man sustained a swollen eye and busted lip during the assault. Police said the three robbers made off with the man's wallet and a Virgin Mobile cell phone. About $350 in cash was taken. Police listed the name of a suspect in the report but no arrest had been reported as of Friday. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the armed robbery of an Enoree man on Hampton Street in Chesnee on Oct. 23. According to a police report, an unknown man approached the 19-year-old victim at about 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Hampton Street, produced a small handgun and stole the man's wallet and a Verizon cell phone. The waller contained $340 cash as well as identification and bank cards, according to the report. More than $3,000 in electronics were reported stolen from a Concord Road home, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Sometime between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and 6:51 a.m. Oct. 25, someone forced entry into the home in the 100 block and took a 42-inch Samsung plasma television, a DVD player, a Gateway computer system with a 22-inch high-definition monitor and a computer printer. Three guns were reported stolen from a Bear Creek Road, Blacksburg, home last week. Some time between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22 and 11 a.m. Oct. 23, an unknown person forced entry into the home in the 100 block and took a .22 caliber Ruger handgun, a .22 caliber H&R handgun and a .380-caliber handgun, according to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Also taken was $500 in cash. A truck driver on Interstate 85 reported being shot at on Oct. 23. According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone shot at a 2007 Freightliner truck owned by Crete Carrier Corp. of Lincoln, Neb., as it was traveling on Interstate 85 near the 102 mile marker in Blacksburg at about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23. The shot struck the truck's windshield, causing about $200 in damage. No injuries were reported. A Grindall Ford Road woman reported a case of animal cruelty to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Some time on Oct. 23, an unknown person injured the woman's 6-year-old German Shepherd by shooting it with an unknown type of firearm. There was no word in the police report about the condition of the dog. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an Oct. 23 shoplifting incident during which a thief stole three cases of beer from a Hyatt Street convenience store. According to a police report, an unknown man stole two cases of Bud Light and a case of Budweiser beer from the Kangaroo Express at 1103 Hyatt Street at about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 23. The man left in a vehicle with a South Carolina license plate number that an employee was able to record. A scooter stolen from East Buford Street between Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 was later recovered on East Montgomery Street, according to the Gaffney Police Department. In police reports, police said the red and black 2008 Jonway scooter was stolen from the 500 block of East Buford Street between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 12:12 p.m. Oct. 22. An officer on patrol found the scooter in the 500 block of East Montgomery Street at about 8:16 p.m. Oct. 22. It was returned to its owner. A vandal used a brick to smash the windows on three vehicles on East Frederick Street. According to the Gaffney Police Department, the damage occurred at Ed's Automotive in the 200 block between 5 p.m. Oct. 21 and Oct. 22. Someone used a brick to smash windows on a 1992 Chevrolet sedan, a 1995 Oldsmobile sedan and a 1985 Nissan sedan. There was no estimate listed for the damage. |
