Jared Ashley Harris
SPARTANBURG - Jared Ashley Harris, 36, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 17, 1972, in Spartan- burg, he was the husband of Chris Mc- Dowell Harris and son of Rosemary Hammett Harris and the late John Harris. He was a graduate of Limestone College with a B.A. in Studio Art and received a Masters in Art Education from Lander University. Mr. Harris was a teacher at Blacksburg High School and taught at the Spartanburg Art Center. He was a member of Park Hills First Church of God- non-Pentecostal. There has never been a more loving husband, father, son, brother, teacher or friend as Jared.
Additional survivors are a daughter, Kara Elizabeth- Rose Harris, of the home and a brother, Dwane Harris and wife, Michelle, of Lyman.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the chapel, conducted by the the Rev. Ed Lenzer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kara Harris Scholarship Fund, c/o Palmetto Bank, 11500 Asheville Hwy., Inman, S.C. 29349.
The family is at the home of Dwane Harris, 18 Crescent Street, Lyman.
